About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President and Chief Diversity & Equity Officer (CDEO) to lead the design and implementation of transformative DEI initiatives. The successful candidate will be a passionate and visionary leader, dedicated to creating a culture of inclusivity and reducing the success gap for historically underserved populations. This role is characterized by a relentless commitment to both employee and student DEI, with a focus on promoting an inclusive workplace and ensuring that the individual life circumstances of students are considered in the company's services. The CDEO will be responsible for establishing clear metrics, analyzing data, and partnering with colleagues to identify and enact strategies that support the company's ability to attract, retain, and support individuals from underrepresented populations. Applicants for the CDEO position at the company should have an earned Master's degree and at least 7 years' leadership experience in driving diversity initiatives. The role requires the ability to bridge strategy and tactics, successful experience in leading and developing talent in a multicultural workplace, and a proven track record in community outreach with a broader social impact. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring team player and coach, with superior skills in navigating sensitive and politically charged situations. A spirit of collegiality, camaraderie, and collaboration is essential, as is the ability to build global relationships and position DEI as an integral part of the company's competitive advantage. A doctorate and diversity certification are preferred, along with experience in higher education and a strong belief in the value of natural human differences.
