A fast-growing construction company in Richmond, VA is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Fractional CFO to join their team! This is a part-time role that requires 20-25 hours per week, with hybrid and flexible schedule options. They are looking for someone with a strong background in accounting, with at least 5 years in commercial construction accounting, who is a team player, detail-oriented, and has experience performing some HR tasks such as onboarding and benefits administration. Fractional CFO Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 10+ years of accounting experience
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction accounting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Experience with HR tasks such as onboarding and benefits administration is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly and team-oriented with an easy-going attitude
Fractional CFO Responsibilities: Accounting (85%): - Maintain financial health and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Develop processes for accurate and timely financial reporting
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls
- Prepare account reconciliations and review financial transactions
- Train staff on financial procedures and ensure accurate record-keeping
- Meet audit, tax return, and cost certification deadlines
- Manage predevelopment and construction financing
- Prepare annual budgets and handle all aspects of cash management
- Process payables, draws, and contractor releases
- Maintain job costs and budgets, process checks and ACH payments
- Collaborate with development and construction departments
- Prepare monthly financial reports for assigned projects
- Process and post interest, and balance books to loan statements
- Create special reports for management and executives, including quarterly WIP reports
- Assist in improving workflow and reducing costs
- Write detailed journal entries
HR (15%): - Conduct onboarding sessions and prepare welcome kits
- Set up workstations for new employees
- Collect timesheets, calculate salaries, and process payments
- Update personal details, maintain attendance logs, and track leave balances
- Enroll employees in health plans, explain benefits options, and process claims
