Your Opportunity Stantec has an opening for an experienced Professional Land Surveyor to join our Community Development group in Irvine, CA.
Your Key Responsibilities - Oversee and responsible for work on mapping related projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys, control surveys, land descriptions, and subdivision mapping on public and private land development projects.
- Task Management, including managing, scope, schedule, and budgets
- Oversee financial details and performance of survey projects and/or tasks
- Supervise technical office and field staff assigned to your team.
- Able to perform survey calculations, analysis and final map checking, abstracting title data, and record drawings research.
- Write descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases, or other legal documents.
- Coordinate survey efforts with clients and other professions within Stantec.
- Sign and seal survey documents.
- Perform survey project quality control and quality assurance.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials - Advanced knowledge of local survey laws, surveying principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
- Proficient in relevant technical software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and/or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of field instrumentation, GPS, and robotic total stations.
- Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
- Demonstrates strong math skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Education and Experience - Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the state of California is required.
- A bachelor's degree or a survey related program; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years Land Surveying experience preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity, including directing workloads, developing staff, and completing performance assessments.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):
Salary Range(s): - CA Other Areas $95,000 - CA Other Areas $152,900 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
