Job Description

SUMMARY:

Geico seeks a Regional Security Manager , a role combining knowledge in the principles of physical security, threat management, investigations, and technical expertise, with leadership capabilities to enhance our safety and security program. Reporting to the Head of Safety and Security, you'll manage the security operations and contract security suppliers for the assigned geographic regions and the people and facilities within it to mitigate against threats to the firm and inform internal stakeholders. This position will manage security operations, lead investigations, and assist in the driving of policies, standards and procedures with the intent of safeguarding employees. As a leader in the security department, you'll leverage your experience in physical security operations, threat assessments and mitigation strategies to enhance our prevention, detection, and response while adapting to evolving threat landscapes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage a team of third-party security staff assigned to Geico owned and leased facilities in the assigned geographical region.
  • Conduct comprehensive threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments to new and existing facilities to identify any potential operational hazards and ensure current security controls are up to Geico Standards.
  • Work with internal partners and outside agencies to investigate, respond and manage security related incidents that occur at Geico properties or impact the firm's personnel.
  • Coordinating response to internal and external physical security/life-safety events including security officer dispatch, internal incident communications, and coordination of cross-functional teams
  • Participate in and make strategic decisions on the growth and direction of the Physical Security department.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of all Geico Corporate Safety and Security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of security resources for all Geico sponsored events both internal and external to the firm's properties.
  • Work as a member of the Site Crisis Management Team for the Geico facilities within the assigned geographical region to help with coordination of security resources and business continuity.
  • Report on physical security related incidents, investigations, events, and activities to senior leadership
  • Prepare and present to a diverse population on safety and security related topics.
  • Regularly review workflows and technology assets to improve operations and reduce resource effort.
  • Provide ongoing training and development to contract security staff and other team members to hone their skills to improve performance and to enable them to enhance their careers.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (BA/BS) degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to quickly rebalance priorities as warranted by developing incidents or new information.
  • Experience liaising with international, federal, state, and local first responder agencies.
  • Proficient in risk communication from security operations to executive management.
  • Collaborative skills working across technical and non-technical teams.'
  • Experience with security technology to include access control, threat intelligence, geo-risk platforms, VMS and event monitoring tools
  • Utilizing or managing mass notification tools
  • Implementing/utilizing metrics-based program development
  • Triaging internal and external physical security/life-safety incidents to determine appropriate level of response.
  • Investigation interview and report writing
  • Ability to respond to security related incidents as they develop 24 hours per day/ 7 days per week
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed and travel up to 25% of the time.
