Job Objective: The office assistant provides support to the Corps Officer, employees, volunteers, and clients by managing a variety of tasks. Manage office procedures including business processes, supply inventory, and building schedules on behalf of the corps officer. Make sure that all interactions between the organization and others are productive to ensure the mission of The Salvation Army.
What you will do: - Oversee clerical tasks, such as sorting and preparing mail.
- Ability to type (keyboard).
- Submit all reports, invoices, etc. to Corps Accountant in a timely manner.
- Prepare and monitor all income for deposit and send paperwork for deposits for Corps Accountant
- Maintain inventory of office supplies. Order materials and supplies as needed, with approval of the corps officer.
- Maintain relevant offices files.
- Welcome visitors and direct them to the appropriate location based on the purpose of their visit.
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and assist with other communication as directed by the corps officer.
- Schedule meetings and sending meeting invites to attendees. Attend monthly advisory board meeting and takes minutes of these meetings.
Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Education: High School Diploma required. Associates preferred.
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background checks will be reviewed.
Experience: Two years of office experience preferred. Candidates with 2 or more years' experience will be given greater consideration.
Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard
Skills/Abilities: Ability to use Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher as well as Outlook and other computer programs. Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel
Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibility for this position

- Able Lift, pull, and push materials up to 25 pounds.
- Able to bend, squat, walk, and stand for extended periods.
Travel: Position may require occasional travel for training.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical office environment. May require some weekend and evening work, Christmas assistance.
