At our core, we’re a company that believes we can always create a better way. Quad is seeking a Rolltender to work in the Tampa, FL Retail Plant. This is a 12-hour rotating schedule (7 a.m.-7 p.m. or 7 p.m.-7 a.m.) including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, working 3-4 shifts per week. Entry-level wages start at $17.00 / hour and will pay more for experience! As a member of the press crew, the Rolltender will have previous experience in offset printing as a jogger or material handler (other platforms will be considered) and can perform the duties of both positions and may be asked to do so from time to time. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Understanding the standard operating procedures of the department. Managing paper supply inventory on the press and feeding rolls into the press. Coordinating plates and tickets for upcoming jobs and hanging paper according to job tickets. Setting up and making splices, hanging plates, hanging blankets, and assisting with webbing up the press. Ensuring correct ink is available for the job and checking ink fountains regularly. Setting fold during make-readies, checking trim sheets to proof, and completing necessary paperwork accurately. Communicating effectively with other departments to coordinate the delivery of raw materials to the press. Washing up the press and assisting with preventative maintenance. Qualifications Candidates must have prior press experience as Jogger/Material Handler. Strong mechanical abilities knowledge of presses and roll stands and the ability to perform basic math calculations are essential. Good verbal and written comprehension skills are a must. Ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions in English. Must be able to thrive in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision. The ability to bend and lift 10-20 pounds continuously, up to 50 pounds at times, stand for long hours, use hands and wrists continuously use vision to identify defects, and perform repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere.
