SPAs Sea Land Air (SLA) Division supports a diverse portfolio of national security government clients, including the Undersea Enterprise, the Navy Surface Community, the Navy MPTE Enterprise, the Air Force, Army, DoD Agencies, DARPA, international clients including the Canadian Navy and Australian Defense Force. Our primary objective is to provide timely, objective and analytic assessments that integrate the policy, operational, technical, programmatic and acquisition aspects of our clients challenges. Leveraging both in-domain and cross-domain expertise to maximize our clients success, SLA Division acts as trusted agents to senior decision-makers and key leaders and excels at providing data driven analytic insights, systems engineering, strategies and plans that address current and emerging challenges to national security.

Within the SLA Division, the Undersea Technology Analysis Group (UTAG) supports the Navy and other government organizations with timely and objective capability assessments, technology evaluations, and strategic planning that integrate the technical, operational, programmatic, policy, and business aspects of undersea warfare (USW) and broader Navy issues.

SPA has an immediate or near-term need for a Red Team Analyst supporting a high-profile client organization, focusing on the identification of challenges that could threaten client equities and interests. #MC

The selected Red Team analyst will work within a small team environment to collaborate on the development of thoroughly supported assessments for delivery to the client. As part of this position, the candidate will be required to execute substantial independent research and other work and maintain proactive engagement with the Team Lead and other Analysts as new insights are gained that impact the trajectory of the overarching assessment. The candidate will apply strong research and analytic skills to conduct extensive study of relevant materials and compile disparate items into slides and written products highlighting insights and implications for discrete Red Team studies. The candidate will apply critical and creative thinking to assess adversary strategies, intent, perspectives, activities, and capabilities and work with the Team Lead and remaining Red Team Analysts to understand threat capabilities and analyze the impact to client equities and interests. The candidate will work with the Team Lead to engage with stakeholders across the Department of Defense (DoD) and the intelligence community (IC) to gather new information and vet and validate team analysis. Much of this work will be conducted in a classified environment, so there are limited opportunities for remote work.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelors Degree in a relevant National Security field, such as political science, national security studies, international affairs, or military history or equivalent experience
• 2-5 years of experience
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analysis to reach defensible conclusions using incomplete information, to develop concise, well-written analytic products to inform decision making, and to present analytic results orally
• Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated abilities to work both independently as well as an effective contributor to teams. Proven ability to navigate, coordinate, and communicate between government and private industry stakeholders
• Proven ability to use Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, to perform data analysis and communicate to decision makers
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and the ability to maintain both throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working in U.S. intelligence analysis
• Experience working in Navy Undersea Warfare Systems, submarine, or other undersea related programs. Understanding of asymmetric threats and risk assessment methodologies
• Foreign language proficiency in areas of interest
