Purpose of Role:

Marex is seeking a Repo Desk Trading Assistant who will be supporting the US Repo Desk and will assist in all aspects of support for sales and trading.

Marex has unique access across markets with significant share globally both on and off exchange. The depth of knowledge amongst its teams and divisions provides its customers with clear advantage, and its technology-led service provides access to all major exchanges, order-flow management via screen, voice and DMA, plus award-winning data, insights and analytics.

Capital Markets is a division of Marex offering a range of products and services to clients as well as to internal trading desks.

Responsibilities: 

  • Support trading and sales for repo business, including:
    • Execute and book tickets for daily margin calls.
    • Execute trade tickets.
    • Resolve trade discrepancies.
    • Work across departments internally to insure proper trade details and settlements.
  • Work with senior trading and sales colleagues to acquire in-depth knowledge of repo markets.
  • Support data analytics for daily reporting.
  • Train for, and successfully pass, FINRA licensing tests.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
  • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
  • At all times complying with Marex's Code of Conduct
    • Carrying out regulatory activities under the Marex Financial and MSIL trading books.
    • Liaising with clients in US; clients include banks, hedge funds, market makers, fund managers, institutional, trading houses and other trading boutiques.
    • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
    • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required.
    • To escalate risk events immediately.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to be a relationship builder, particularly with finding out information or initiating actions
  • Understanding about the front to back processing of Capital Markets products
  • Understanding of the applicable governance, legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to these products
  • Self-motivated, confident, and resilient - able to strive within a profitability driven environment
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office at a proficent level (OneDrive, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Entrepreneurial and leadership skills will be highly considered
  • FINRA SIE, Series 7 & Series 63 preferred or ability to study for and successfully pass within 6 months of hire.
  • Bachelor's Degree (e.g., business administration, finance, economics and/or a related field). 

Salary Range: $60,000 to $75,000 per year base salary and eligible for discretionary bonus.
